Hi, I’m Dor Maimoun. I am a multidisciplinary artist based in Chicago, Illinois.
In 2015 I graduated from The Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design with a BFA in Jewelry design and Goldsmith. back then, I was focusing on developing my jewelry line while working as a freelance designer in New York City. In 2021 I moved to Chicago to pursue an MFA degree at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Designed Objects and Fibers.

The mediums I use, are primarily metals, furniture, and textiles. The textiles were initially developed as upholstery fabric.
I am interested in exploring the symbiosis between everyday objects and the human body from a queer perspective. These items may have familiar uses, but their esoteric features or placements allude to the way in which the complexity of human gender and sexuality can often defy anticipated norms.
